.  Make sure your content appeals to a broad range of potential clients so they will click through your ad to check out your product.  Short, concise descriptions and compelling statements with eye-catching images are best.

.  Have a good description in your SEO title so it will come up when searched; make it the best option to choose when the client has a choice of many.

.  Keywords, descriptions and titles must be relevant to what you are selling in order to be found through search engines.

.  Find websites that are similar to yours in order to reach the target audience you have in mind.

.  Associate with only websites you can trust and that have a good reputation, they don’t have to be the biggest but they should be well connected to give you the most exposure you can get.

Benefitting from Affiliate Marketing

Imagine selling iPhone custom covers and partnering with resellers who carry already carry iPhone products.  Both parties would benefit from potential sales. Someone who buys an iPhone most likely would be interested in an iPhone cover to protect it.  The participating reseller would receive a percentage of the profits from each sale.

Selling iPhone covers in an Apple Store would be a greater benefit as the store would purchase a bulk amount at a discount and sell them for suggested retail and both parties would benefit from the association.  There would be a great deal of traffic circulating through the store bringing in a lot of potential customers.

Marketing and Blogging in SEO history

March 15th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

On January 8th, 2002, Marketingprofs.com posted an article entitled, “Search Engine Marketing: Can You Afford Not To?”  The article discusses how most marketing strategists neglect SEO in their plans, and how only 24 percent of e-businesses receive a majority of their traffic from search engines.  This article is notable because it demonstrates a keen awareness of the power SEO and how underutilizing it may result in lost business.  Another article written on November 14th, 2006 on Businessweek.com talks about blogging as an SEO tool.  The article highlights AOL’s Ted Leonsis and how by posting frequently, linking to other sites, and mentioning celebrities he made his blog the second search result in search engines, right after his corporate biography.  The article demonstrates how blogging is an easy and informal way of good SEO, and how individuals and businesses can gain great search engine visibility through blogs.

Great press releases get people to listen.

5 tips for preparation, writing and/or distribution of SEO press release.

1. Research keywords. Perform the research necessary to understand the correct keywords.

2. Use SEO tactics in writing press release. Use keywords to posititon the press release within online resources.

3. Make it interactive – the more elements in the press release, the deeper the connection with the audience and the more it can be linked back to.

4. Write the press release in the same way you would write any other online content – make sure it shows up when a user searches an engine like Google for related content.

5. Make it useful to the reader – don’t write an article just to market some product, service or company. Write something that people want to read, that educates and engages the reader. It may have its roots in marketing, but it needs to be compelling copy.

Important Tips For Writing A Press Release

February 28th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Great press releases are newsworthy.

The three most important processes in preparing writing and/or distributing press releases are:

1. Ensure the topic is newsworthy. The content must be reworked in a way that ensures newsworthiness to the reader. A press release shouldn’t simply read as a piece of marketing, though that is its purpose. It should read like a news article.

2. Know the audience – a traditional press release must be written in way that speaks to editors and news gate keepers. The press release must answer the “who, what, when, where and why” questions that every news story answers.

3.Use outlets that can get the press release in front of the right readers.

Apple laptop

Laptops R Us is a company that specializes in selling laptops that can benefit from SEO press releases. They are a local company, but they have a simple website. Their primary customers are local college students, but others include families and grade school students.

An SEO press release could benefit this company because its primary customers are online. Laptops R Us could use an SEO press release to come out on top of SERPs for local searchers. They need increased visibility online and a press release could help them do this.

Laptops R Us should prepare press releases when new, highly-anticipated products like Apple laptops become available, when industry news is released that affects them, when they expand and when they offer sales.

SEO Press Release Improve Upon The Traditional Press Release Form

February 26th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Get people to read your press release.

What is the difference between an SEO press release and a traditional press release?

A traditional press release is written with news editors in mind. These releases focus on creating copy that is newsworthy and able to be adapted to broadcast or print news.

An SEO press release, while still focused on being newsworthy, must also take in to account SEO practices to be considered successful or useful web copy. These practices include keyword research, inclusion of keywords, and the knowledge that the release is readable by the end user, not just the news gatekeepers (i.e., editors).

SEO Friendly Content Makes Doggy Clothing Company Bark For Joy

February 19th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Doggy sweater.

Doggone Cute is a fictitious doggy clothing company. They conduct 100% of their customer-facing business online, but their website is woefully out of date and difficult for customers to find. This company needs SEO friendly content like a dog needs a purple turtleneck sweater. Well…you get the point.

Doggone Cute would benefit from SEO friendly content in the following ways. Could your website also benefit from SEO?

SEO-centered content focuses on the keywords a person may enter in to a search engine, such as “Doggy sweater”. The person typing this search in to Google or Yahoo is likely looking to shop for, and buy, a doggy sweater. This is exactly the type of potential buyer that Doggone Cute should be targeting. But how to do it? Each page, and all its various bits and pieces, should be focused on getting that person to the Doggone Cute website, and the way to accomplish this is through SEO friendly content.

A website should be clearly laid out and easy to search, both for website crawlers, and visiting customers. If the site is confusing or irrelevant, crawlers and shoppers will leave. SEO guidelines direct the website’s writer to create copy that is easy to read and search. At the same time, if the writer focuses on being informative and compelling, success is virtually guaranteed.

SEO-Friendly Article Content: How To Write For The Web

February 18th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Writing SEO for a website.

To create an SEO content friendly article, it is important to first perform research on keyword selection. Perform the search using Google Adwords (or other higher-end methods, if available) to determine the volume of searches for particular words. Based on the research results, shape the article’s content around those keywords with the intent of raising their ranking on search engines.

The article should include the SEO-focused keywords in the headline, in the body of each paragraph (with the first paragraph’s keywords in boldface), in the tags and keywords, page description, etc. Ensure the keywords are the first words in the headline, URL and page title. These tactics help to achieve ”Keyword Prominence” and “Keyword Proximity”.

While following these guidelines, it is imperative that the article’s content is educational and compelling. Merely stuffing a page with SEO content is not enough to be considered high-quality, useful and efficient. Readers know when they’re being pandered to. Seek to make sure they view the article as informative and worthy of their time.
