Internet Marketing Considers The ‘M’ Factor

March 3rd, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Internet has drastically changed the way businesses function today. Be it marketing, branding, attracting right talent or generating sales, internet has enabled businesses to carry out these crucial functions more efficiently. Points given below accentuate this notion further –
• The ‘M’ Factor – Large and established organizations can afford to spend millions on marketing and related activities for generating sales, whereas start-ups or smaller organizations can just dream about them. Internet marketing can circumvent this problem efficiently. Even business behemoths are resorting to internet marketing for increasing their reach in all realms of business advancement.
• Widening the Reach – Before the advent of internet, generating business from foreign markets was next to impossible. Country specific laws, infrastructure costs and transfer of money were the main problem, but not anymore. Setting up a website, which is marketed enough is bound to set the registers ringing, no matter where the business is located.

Advertising on Internet Helps Gauge Readership

March 2nd, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

For many businesses, the internet can be an effective way to get the most out of advertising.

Advertising on Internet is an invaluable tool for businesses because it is the most measurable means of advertising in terms of gauging the viewership of its intended audience. Whereas businesses cannot measure the number of people who may or may not have viewed a newspaper ad, and can only have a very rough idea of how many people saw a television ad, assuming they were attentively watching, response to internet advertising can be measured very directly by how many times an ad link was visited and by whom. Also, with many people spending an increasingly large amount of time on the internet, internet advertising is becoming more and more advantageous in terms of putting the product name where it may catch the attention of a potential client.

Internet Marketing – What’s the Point?

February 27th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Internet marketing is an important tool for several reasons. The internet is a world-wide technology that allows people from all corners of the globe to access a bevy of information. Because of its ability to reach people all over the world, the internet is a great way for individuals, groups, and companies to market themselves far beyond their most immediate target markets. They are not confined by the geographical limitations presented in more traditional marketing techniques like TV, radio, and print media. Internet marketing is also important because it can provide immediate quantifiable data that can be measured and assessed, giving businesses the ability to quickly react and capitalize on trends and behaviors. Through things like analytic software, businesses can track responses to internet marketing strategies in ways that they could never do with traditional marketing outlets.

Internet Marketing Strategy for Collectibles Market

February 21st, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

I would like to create a business to sell mid-century collectibles. In the 70’s I would have had to open a store front and hope that walk by traffic would be interested in coming through the door based on print ads I would place in industry specific journals and local newspaper ads. I would also rely on local business networking as well as word-of-mouth recommendations. I might also try direct mail.  There would have been no Interent Marketing Strategy back then.

Today I could advertise that same business on-line and reach a global audience as compared to a local one. I could track my page views and the amount of times that the website was actually found and fine tune it to make it more successful.

Internet Marketing Today versus Yesterday: Candle Company Case Study

February 16th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

I own a scented candle company. In the early 1970’s I probably would be holding home parties to sell my product. I would be inviting over 20 of my closest friends and hoping they bought a candle or two, then I would talk them into having a party at their homes. At best, I would have an audience of 20-40 women at a time, not very efficient. Fastforwarding to the future, I would create a website, determine my target market and develop a strategy to build my business. I would use Internet Marketing to reach as many possible clients as I could, and would probably be much more successful. My efforts would be rewarded 100 fold and my time much better utilized.

Internet Marketing for Restaurants – now and then

February 11th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

I would like to put up a fast food restaurant that offers different kinds of burgers.
• For traditional marketing, I would use TV advertisement to promote my burgers. I would consult advertising experts to come up with a jingle that would appeal to the people to ensure product retention. Aside from this, I would also put up giant billboards on strategic locations to ensure product visibility.
• For Internet Marketing, I will put up a website where online ordering is also possible. I will utilize search engine marketing to increase my website traffic and make sure it’s the first thing to show up in the Google page when people search for “burger restaurant” or “fastfood burger”. Also, I will utilize social marketing sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I will create a fan page on Facebook where people can share comments and suggestions on my restaurant. I will then use Twitter to promote new products and promos.
