Blog
These five tips will help you maximize the effectiveness of your blog, increase clicks, return rates and eventually, your brand.
1. Get seen, be visible. Know how to use keywords and other SEO techniques to be on the top of SERPs (search engine results pages). If no one can find your blog whether intentionally, or by accident, nothing else matters. If a tree falls in the forest, but no one reads your blog, does it really exist?
2. Build your reputation. Through some of the following tips, we’ll show you how to build and maintain your blog’s reputation. Once you’ve used the right keywords and other techniques to be seen, you want to keep your readers and engaged and interested enough to return on a regular basis. The main way to do this is to build the reputation of your blog through the following techniques.
3. Keep it current. If a reader lands on your blog and finds content from last year, they can infer one or more things: You don’t regularly maintain your blog, nothing new is going on with your brand and/or company, you don’t have insight in to current trends or news, and worst, that you have abandoned your blog altogether. Posting regular content lets the reader know this is a living, breathing blog. Backdating is not the answer because the lapse in time can not be undone by uploading old content after the fact.
4. Keep it interesting. While it is important to regularly upload content, it is also important that the content is “read-worthy”. Talking about Bob-from-Accounting’s birthday is not “read-worthy”. Talking about how your vehicle was featured in the latest action flick is. If you’re bored typing it, they’ll be even more bored trying to read it.
5. Keep it interesting. Through varied content, links and allowing comments, your blog takes on life. When a reader lands on your blog, they see a wealth of information and activity, and this is what will keep them coming back and referring others to you.

Blog
When starting out in an industry where the competition is plentiful, it is important to utilize all the marketing tools at your disposal, especially those that require little out-of-pocket expense. A blog can be the perfect tool for a start-up such as a hand-made jewelry company. There are gazillions of people out there making their own jewelry. Some are recreational designers, some want to build a successful brand. For the latter, a blog can be the perfect way to update readers on jewelry finds, inspiration and news.
If a jewelry designer is able to get a celebrity or other high-profile individual to wear their designs, a blog is a great way to broadcast that news. By using the appropriate tags such as “Nicole Kidman jewelry”, the blog could attract individuals conducting casual searches online. Those casual searchers could turn in to virtual window shoppers and, eventually, paying customers.

Blog
Blogging offers great marketing opportunities for businesses of all levels. A well-executed blog can be used to disseminate important news and to educate the reader about the specific brand and industry as a whole. In this article, we’ll explain how to use a blog as a great marketing tool.
News items related to a company are a great way to keep the blog current and up-to-date. By offering information that can not be found elsewhere, readers are more likely to continually check the blog for exclusive information. Article topics under this category can include the release of new products, expansions and changes within the company, accolades and press coverage.
“Educational” blog entries can improve the visibility of the blog and, consequently, the brand’s main website. By posting informative articles and posts, the website improves its chances of being linked to by other sites, increasing visibility. Educational copy regarding the brand and industry as a whole add a level of depth to the blog and offers information that viewers will come to depend on.

Typewriter keys
In Journalism classes, writers are encouraged to know the audience, speak to the audience and engage them. SEO is the same basic concept. If a writer wishes to write for web audiences, he/she must know how to speak to that audience. This includes the most fundamental aspect of getting your words in front of the reader. It is not enough to be a great writer. Great words on an ineffective website benefit almost no one. Great writing on a website with excellent visibility due to SEO is much more fruitful and beneficial.

Sample blog page
If I were to create a business that would benefit from search engine optimization, I would start a blog. Simple? Yes. Cheap? Sure. Effective? You bet. My blog would offer reviews of current political events, movies and art. In order to put SEO to work for my blog, I would determine the types of keyword searches potential readers would be entering in to a search engine, i.e. “reviews on Valentine’s Day movie”, and create blogs that speak to those keywords. I would make sure to utilize keywords in copy and tags to draw in readers. I would also seek to be seen as a consistent, reliable voice on current events so as to be linked to by other sites, to further draw traffic and raise search engine ranking.
Through these easy SEO practices, I would be sure to garner attention, increased readership, and just maybe, a few advertisers for my blog.

Internet Marketing
Five things to remember to achieve effective media writing:
1. Remember that surfing the internet is different than browsing through printed materials, and writing should reflect this reality.
2. Writing should cater to a person browsing, as a window display does to a casual passerby. It should be engaging with minimal involvement, and encourage the viewer to want to see more.
3. Don’t write a novel, keep the copy succint, to the point and informative. Readers are not there to become engrossed in your content, at least, not at first.
4. Be smart and tactful – pop up ads are frequently blocked by viewers, and shady tactics just anger potential customers. Don’t waste your energy or money on these types of multimedia.
5. Don’t barrage your viewer with too much content. The visual aspect of your page is very important – too much content crowds the page and turns off the reader.

In a relatively short time frame, blogging has changed from a niche marketing category for tech sites to a mainstream method of reaching consumers and building traffic. Early on, the majority of blogs were personal sites used by individuals or clubs to communicate with a small group of followers. Now, companies of all sizes are realizing the value in blogs and have begun to see drastic sales increases directly because of their postings. When used correctly, blogging can become one of the top sources of sales leads. Here are some tips to optimize your blog marketing:
- Start by laying out a plan for exactly what the purpose of your blog is. You need to determine the goal of your blog posts. For example, your blog may be to educate consumers, differentiate your brand from the competition, sell people on an idea, boost your sites status in search engines, etc.
- Ensure that all blog postings are relevant to your company or industry. This will help build credibility and will keep readers coming back to learn more about a given topic.
- Offer helpful tips, hints and suggestions that will leave readers hungry for more. This will make your blog a very useful tool because people will refer to it for help and will tell others about it.
- Update your blog regularly to ensure that you develop a devoted reader base. Otherwise, visitors will lose interest and will not come back. An abandoned blog will give visitors a negative view of your company.
- Make sure that you don’t sound like a press release or an advertisement. Readers can identify ads immediately and will not continue reading your blog. A soft sell is okay when it is informative and passive.
These are some basic blogging tips to help you get started. Blogging is a low cost way of interacting with consumers and information them about your company and products. With the proper planning, creativity, and commitment you can develop a successful and widely read blog.
