In December 1999 there was a slight spike in Internet Marketing, a significant date in Internet Marketing history. During a conference on mortgage and home equity, attendees were exposed to the future of selling their services. And, they were shown that their clients could be better served by the efficiency and speed of doing business over the web.
In June 2008 there was a deal struck between the two major search engines, Yahoo and Google. I would like to put up a fast food restaurant that offers different kinds of burgers.
• For traditional marketing, I would use TV advertisement to promote my burgers. I would consult advertising experts to come up with a jingle that would appeal to the people to ensure product retention. Aside from this, I would also put up giant billboards on strategic locations to ensure product visibility.
• For Internet Marketing, I will put up a website where online ordering is also possible. I will utilize search engine marketing to increase my website traffic and make sure it’s the first thing to show up in the Google page when people search for “burger restaurant” or “fastfood burger”. Also, I will utilize social marketing sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I will create a fan page
on Facebook where people can share comments and suggestions on my restaurant. I will then use Twitter to promote new products and promos.

- One of the turning points of Internet Marketing was when Netscape went public (August 9, 1995) and popularized the World Wide Web by exploring its commercial potential. It paved the way for other companies to invest in Internet Marketing. Before then, no one really recognized the huge potential of the Internet as a marketing tool. Even Bill Gates and Steve Jobs publicly declared the impracticality of using the Internet as a marketing tool.
- Another important event in the history of Internet Marketing was the penetration of Broadband Internet (late 2001) in each household. This made browsing easier, and web companies began to develop more content on the Internet that eventually made online advertising more creative, informative, and far more relevant.
