Internet Marketing for Professionals – Now and Then

February 25th, 2010 § 0 comments

I have chosen “Professional Resume Writing Services” as my business.

My business caters to the professionals / job seekers by creating their resume that highlights their skills and maps their aspiring role/job. Revenue can be generated either as a turnkey project (Pay per assignment) or on prorated basis.

In 1970, I would have marketed my services through traditional methods like newspapers, advertisements, social contacts and personal visits to clienteles. With internet marketing, I can create blogs, develop websites based on SEO and SEM concepts, deploy marketing plans through geo marketing, social media marketing and affiliate marketing techniques.

Cost effective marketing plan to create awareness among global clients:

In 1970, it would have been difficult to create awareness among public and recruiters about professional resume writing. Even after spending time and money in printing pamphlets, brochures, periodic advertisements through famous newspapers and other media, the reach of my services would be very limited and confined to local market segments. It would take far more effort on my part to target clienteles at global level.

In contrast, today, with the arrival of internet it is easier to target clients who needs professional resume consultation. I can also have tie ups with online job portals to reach the target market quickly. Awareness can be easily created by developing ‘key word’ based articles to talk about the benefits of my service. Easy payment option by a single click can allure customers. I can comfortably offset the cost of advertisement dollars. I can save time and money by internet marketing and consequently focus more on delivering quality resumes.

Adapt to the changes:

In 1970, the traditional methods of information dissemination makes it harder to gauge the trends in service industry and adapt to market changes quickly. This knowledge can be achieved only by attending conferences and developing professional networks. These methodologies were also time consuming. Even after putting excess amount of hard work, I could have gained no or minimal success.

Whereas with the internet marketing today, I can easily develop a professional network such as social media tools, blogs, and websites. Through knowledge forums, I can gain more knowledge on the latest changes / developments happening in my service industry. Resumes provided by me will have the key elements followed by the recruitment functionalities and human resource consultants. I can also measure the market statistics and easily adapt to the changes by upgrading my knowledge and service levels.
