I would like to create a business to market plush toys. The market is very competitive a
nd going up against the big toy companies is impossible. SEO would benefit me greatly in that I could reach particular markets to sell into who otherwise would not know of my existence at a very low cost. I could market certain toys to particular age groups through keyword phrases in the content as well as reach a global audience.
Including links to other sites would be a good way to increase PageRank. Like co-marketing this method could be used with target market companies to increase traffic on my site.

Websites success lies in SEO
The following are two dates in history that I feel held significance for SEO.
In January of 2001, Allan Dick became Vintage Tub and Bath’s general manager, and savior. Mr. Dick was interested in, and began researching SEO opportunities for his company. Since, implementing SEO techniques, Vintage Tub and Bath has increased their gross revenues by 1700%, turning them into the lead supplier of reproduction bathroom fixtures. This phenomenal increase came about as a direct result of SEO. You can now find Mr. Dick speaking at Search Engine Strategy conferences.
In November 2005, Google implemented a 3-part update program which essentially changed the way websites are ranked. First, the age of your site became pertinent to the ranking. The older the site, the higher the rank. Second, the history of your web pages would now play a role in the ranking of your site. And thirdly, the way back links are counted had a part in higher or lower rankings. The sites with longer standing links carried more weight than new links. Google was attempting to get web owners to utilize their websites more efficiently rather than buying multiple sites and linking them.

These five tips will lead to effective marketing utilizing Social Media.
1. Be authentic. Social Media sites work best when users are authentic and approachable.
2. Promote involvement. Encourage visitors to become “fans” or members of your “group” and to get involved. This type of involvement is the quickest way to get your message in front of large numbers of people.
3. Variety. Keep the tone and content of your updates and material diverse. Be interesting and relevant to keep people reading. It’s very easy to “block” someone from your News Feed, thereby rendering their content irrelevevant.
4. Keep it brief. As with most internet marketing content, the copy needs to be precise and concise. Status updates are not the time for long soliloquies.
5. Don’t spam. As with pop-up ads, email blasts or commercials, there is a threshold of acceptance for marketing-related copy. If you are updating so frequently that only your updates appear in the “Most Recent” news feeds of others, they will likely unfriend you, unfollow you or block you. Be considerate.
