Candle company utilizes SEO

I have a struggling candle company.  You may have noticed, there are a lot of candle companies out there.  I happen to believe that my candles are special, so I want to build a website and sell them online.  Problem is that, although my candles smell fantastic…you can’t smell them through the monitor.  I have a fabulous website, filled with important information and beautiful pictures, but nobody seems to be visiting my site.  It’s clear that I need to use SEO techniques to get my candle company moving.  I must be ranked highly and be one of the first sites that my potential customers see when they Google “scented candles”.  Once I have their attention, I can make the sale.  Increasing the number of hits on my site is crucial to the success of my candle company.

Surf Contest To Benefit From Twitter Marketing

2007 Roxy Cardiff Jam poster

The Roxy Cardiff Jam surf contest could benefit greatly from a great Twitter marketing campaign. The Roxy Cardiff Jam competition is an annual women’s surf competition that relies on local and international talent to compete, and relies on revenues from paying attendees. The Jam could generate excitement through a Twitter feed, announcing entrants, offering exclusive information to followers, and offering live covering via Tweets during the event itself. This would allow their viewers to become engaged in the competition, to keep it “alive” year round, and to increase its visibility.

Five Things To Avoid To Ensure Effective Social Media Interaction

March 5th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Social Media

Five things to avoid doing when interacting with Social Media such as Facebook.

1. Maintaining the same style or content in posts. Vary the tone and information included in your posts to keep your readers/viewers engaged.

2. Overload your page with too much information. Internet users are not looking to read a novel, they’re usually quickly jumping from site to site. if your site is too bogged down with lengthy posts and information, they will likely move on before becoming engaged in your content.

3. Disregard the format to which you’re posting. The “news feed” style of Facebook, and other Social Media styles, should be taken in to consideration when you’re inputting information. Write as you would in a brief text message, lengthy posts are not appropriate.

4. Use shady tactics to get people’s attention. If you’re overloading a news feed or creating multiple sites to get interest in an underhanded way, viewers will resent you and you’ll never gain the popularity needed to make Social Media work for you.

5. Be boring. You don’t want to read boring posts about cat hair or carpet selections, so why would you think your potential viewers would? Keep your content interesting and engaging. There is no rule that says a viewer has to be your fan or friend, or join your group, or even stay in that status if you bore or annoy them. So do your best to be continuously engaging and informative.
